Real Estate Leasing and Brokerage Jobs

This career requires a state license (states often allowing reciprocity) to represent buyers, sellers, owners, or tenants to confer a right on one entity (called a tenant or lessee) to possess property belonging to a commercial real estate or multi-family owner. At times, this career can include marketing, and may be presented in job descriptions as "selling" leases. Because lessees may be corporations, foreign investors and business entities, institutional buyers or sellers, this career requires sophisticated business acumen. Within commercial real estate, most agents specialize in a sector such as hospitality, retail, office, etc. A Broker or Leasing Representative is responsible for identifying, contacting, negotiating and closing commercial and industrial leasing deals for new or existing projects, and land sales. Lease Administrators may assist in analyzing leased and owned properties providing information on real estate assignments (transfer of rights), property values, capital expenditures, and rental rates.
